In 1978, Kuwait Bakeries Company was established to produce and distribute various types of bread. In 1988, it merged with Kuwait Flour Mills Company to form a single entity. The company operates eight bakeries across Kuwait, with a total production capacity of 4 million loaves of bread per day. These bakeries are located in Al Shaab, Kifan, Khaitan, Jahraa, Yarmouk, Shuwaikh, Rumaytheya, and Ahmadi.
The company focuses on producing preservative-free Arabic bread, freshly distributed daily through 900 outlets, including kiosks, co-ops, subsidiaries, supermarkets, groceries, and restaurants. Products include Arabic white and brown bread, light versions of both, barley bread, white/brown/barley Rugag bread, and saffron bread.
