About Us

Since its independence back in 1961, the State of Kuwait proceeded with significant steps towards founding the country, and instilling its own food security, represented in establishing the Kuwait Flour Mills Company. However, as it amalgamated with the Kuwaiti Bakeries Company in 1988, it has become one of the leading industrial branches of Kuwait.

Though its processes started with the delivery of flours shipments, the KFMB has today become one of the hugest industrial complexes in the Middle East, thanks to its own factories operating according to the best quality standards, and the state-of-the-art technologies. It incorporates ten main plants, ten automatic bakeries spread all over Kuwait, and an automatic bakery in Sabhan producing bread and European Samoon bread. In 1969, the company tended to incorporate a pastry plant, to be followed with incorporating a biscuits plant in 1971. Moreover, KFMB established in 1976 a vegetarian oil factory, which was the first of its kind within the Arabian Gulf region. In 1978, the company adopted ambitious steps towards building nine automatic bakeries geographically spread all over Kuwait, the main of which was the Central Sabhan Bakery, which is deemed a distinguished industrial mark in the Arabian Gulf region. In 1996, it operated the fodders factory, which provides fodders rich with nutrients for livestock breeders, as well as serving the livestock wealth within the country.

In 1994, KFMB purchased a company of great importance for better serving the Kuwaiti locals, i.e., the Kuwait Supply Company, which deals in distributing ration supplies through its ration branches spread all over Kuwait, under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

KFMB carries on its shoulders a national responsibility, represented in covering the country’s needs of basic food supplies, and further boosting and developing current industries to support the national industry wheel. It also aims to preserve food security. KFMB-affiliated factories are accredited by international and Kuwaiti certifications instilling their confident steps towards fulfilling the concept of leadership, such as Kuwaiti Quality Certification, and ISO Quality Management Certification (ISO 9001:2008) & (ISO 22000:2005), as well as the ACCP Certification granted to Sabhan, pastry and biscuit factories.

CEO Message

Since its establishment, Kuwait Flour Mills & Bakeries Company has remained committed to a clear mission: supporting food security for the State of Kuwait and reinforcing its role as a strategic hub in the regional and global food supply network. The company has steadily pursued continuous development, upholding the highest international standards and adapting to modern changes and evolving consumer needs both locally and globally.

In 2025, the company achieved a significant milestone in geographic expansion into a market of the United States of America — a move that places Kuwait on the global food trade map and positions the company as an economic pillar reflecting the strength of national industry. We are committed to further strengthening our regional and international presence in support of a new, ambitious vision for Kuwait to become a global financial and commercial center by 2035.

Innovation is an integral part of our identity. The company has expanded its food activities, diversified its products and provided alternatives at stable prices, thereby reducing food inflation, stimulating local supply chains, increasing domestic production and reducing dependence on imports, the company has launched a new range of products designed to meet the tastes and preferences of Kuwaiti consumers, including Aqeeli Rahash, Aqeeli Halwa, Loaf Cake, and specialty coffee products. We also began establishing flagship retail outlets and model bakeries in areas such as Mubarakiya, Mutlaa, Sabah Al-Ahmad, and Nuwaiseeb to enhance the experience of visitors and tourists, delivering quality beyond expectations and geographical proliferation to promote an easy access of the company products for all.

As part of our commitment to sustainable development, the company partnered with the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources to produce a new blend of green animal feed (Alfalfa), which offers high nutritional value while reducing the use of groundwater for irrigation — reflecting our dual dedication to environmental responsibility and national economic sustainability.

In terms of competitiveness, the company has continued to grow its exports by 4% since 2023, managed to enter new Arab and Foreign markets thanks to the high quality of its products and growing consumer trust. We continue to modernize our industrial facilities using the latest systems and technologies, achieving notable progress in food quality and safety, including gradual ISO 22000 certification of our production facilities, in alignment with international standards.

In the field of national workforce development, believing that the national element is better equipped to ensure sustainable food security, we take pride in a 31.5% increase in Kuwaiti employment within the company this year — a reflection of our ongoing efforts to empower national talent and balance institutional growth with investment in Kuwaiti element, expanding the activities of the company and proceeding with a rational approach that meets the company’s aspiration as a notional model among companies.

The company also remains fully committed to its national responsibilities by supporting government subsidy optimization and contributing to more efficient resource management. One of our most prominent initiatives in this area is the development of the national rationing system, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. We implemented a comprehensive digital system that enhances operational efficiency, ensures transparency, enables decision-makers to perform their duties accurately, and guarantees secure, continuous, and automated service — improving food delivery to citizens, targeting subsidies effectively, monitoring inventory, and tracking product distribution across cooperative societies and suppliers.

These achievements are not the end of our journey, but rather a launching point for further growth and renewal, our aspirations for the future are high, limitless and we are constantly implementing the Food Security System and expanding trade by adopting the latest technologies in the food industry and adhering to the highest standards of safety and quality. Kuwait Flour Mills & Bakeries Company will, God willing, remain a cornerstone in supporting national food security, a source of pride for every Kuwaiti, and a role model in innovation, quality, and sustainability.  We are mindful of the confidence of our good government and take that support as a source of creativity and a source for pride for each Kuwaiti.
